Apple Cinnamon Overnight Oats

Sometimes it’s too much of a rush to make breakfast in the morning. And who wants to skip out on the most important meal of the day? This recipe can be made in less than 5 minutes the night before a busy morning, and it tastes like autumn has finally arrived! It’s one of my favourite seasons (tied with winter, of course) and one of the best ways to celebrate it is with flavourful food.

Time: Less than 5 minutes (sits overnight)

Yield: 1 serving


  • 1/4 cup quick cooking or rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup greek yogurt
  • cinnamon (I use about 2 tsps, experiment yourself)
  • 2 tsp sweetener such as maple syrup or honey (optional, I find mine is already sweet enough!)


  • Combine all ingredients in a jar and seal it tightly, pop it into the fridge until morning
  • Top with anything you’d like (walnuts, seeds, nut butters, etc…)




  • a cup of this stuff provides you with 11% of your daily value of fiber, it has soluble fiber which helps keep your blood sugar levels stable
  • great source of Vitamin C
  • make sure you use unsweetened applesauce (it’s already sweet enough!) and avoid the ones with added sugar, they may be using high-fructose corn syrup
  • you can always replace liquid fats in recipes with applesauce (anything calling for oil or melted butter)
